Designing Absence

Entry for the 'Designing Absence' competition in Antwerp. One image submission with attached text;
'The Ubiquitous Hand'
Antwerp; 'The Thrown hand' of the giant Antigoon exists in permanent memory through its absence, a nothingness resonated through the incomplete bell tower.
A wound to be healed, the new bell tower will serve as a link between the myth and the present.
A lightweight structure comprised of compression rods and tension cables working in equilibrium provides a roosting point for indigenous birds to settle; allowing the Phantom Limb to reveal and disperse itself through the black sun swarm.
The Phantom Limb presents a memory of what was there, and what could have been.
The appendage that glances in and out of focus.
The Ubiquitous Hand.
**UPDATE**
Another honourable mention for the CunningWarrior.
